West Virginia University journalists are doing their part to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina by giving away over $2,000 in prizes and a football signed by the WVU football team members and Coach Rich Rodriguez.

Student organizations at the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism including Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), Diversity in Media Association (DIMA), Ad Club and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) are raffling off the prizes, all donated by local businesses.

The student-led and organizedWVU Journalists for Katrina Reliefeffort will be selling tickets at the Mountainlair until Sept. 23.

Prizes for the raffle include WISP ski tickets, restaurant gift certificates, movie tickets, free tanning and much more.

All prizes were donated and all money raised will go to the American Red Cross to help hurricane evacuees who have found shelter in the state.
