The West Virginia University Center for Womens Studies will host an open house from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Elizabeth Moore Hall.
The event is an opportunity for new students to meet with womens studies faculty, visiting committee members and alumni and gain information about earning a degree in the program.
Housed in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, the Center for Womens Studies just celebrated a quarter-century of teaching, research and service at WVU . The first class of womens studies certificate students graduated in 1986.
The center now offers a bachelors degree and courses that meet requirements for the new general education curriculum. The number of students enrolled in womens studies courses at WVU has grown to more than 2,000.
