As gasoline prices continue to climb higher, the interest surrounding alternative fuel sources is also increasing.

The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), headquartered at West Virginia University, can be a valuable resource for information, training and technology for all concerned by the rising fuel costs.

Experts are available daily to answer fuel related questions, as well as, to provide information concerning alternative fuel technology.

In order to enhance the awareness, NAFTC strives to promote the use and knowledge of alternative fuel technologies. Various methods are currently in use to help promote awareness of alternative fuels.

The NAFTC currently publishes a monthly electronic newsletter that publicizes current alternative fuels stories, and publicizes various happenings throughout the national consortium. The Clean Alternatives Report (CAReport) is published biannually to allow readers to have greater access to the alternative fuels industry.

In addition to the publications, the NAFTC also offers several workshops and training sessions on alternative fuel technologies.

When asked why alternative fuels are crucial in the fight against increasingly high fuel costs, Al Ebron, Executive Director of NAFTC , pointed out the need to develop energy alternatives to reduce our use of petroleum. He said that the mission of NAFTC is to benefit the nation through education.

We can be a valuable resource for the public or for interest groups that are trying to evaluate the alternatives to petroleum based transportation,Ebron said.
