Mountaineer football fans who cant make the trip to Syracuse Sept. 4 for the fall opener, can head to the Appalachian Power Park in Charleston to watch the game on the parks Jumbotron.

WV Power, WVU Alumni Association, Mountaineer Parents Club and the WVU Foundation Partners are teaming up to host aPigskinparty for alumni and friends of West Virginia University.

We are pleased to partner with WV Power to host this special event for alumni and friends in the Kanawha Valley,said Steve Douglas, president and chief executive officer, WVU Alumni Association.This is a perfect venue for fans to bring their families to the park and join together with fellow Mountaineers to cheer the football team to victory.

Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and admission is free. The first 1,000 fans will receive a special giveaway. In addition, fans will have an opportunity to participate in games for prizes, including tickets to a football game. Fans will also enjoy performances by the WVU Pep Band.

In addition to stadium seating, fans can bring their blankets and lawn chairs to sit on the baseball field to watch the game. The game will be televised on the Jumbotron with play-by-play from Tony Caridi on V100 radio. Stadium concessions will also be available for purchase. No outside drinks or food will be permitted inside the stadium.

The event will also provide students and parents with a unique networking opportunity.
