West Virginia University students can watch world champion golfers, take in a concert and even appear on national televisionall while helping a good cause.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 22, the WVU Student Government Association is selling specially priced tickets to the 84 Lumber Classic at the Student Organization Services office in the Mountainlair.

The PGA event attracts golf pros from around the nation to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Uniontown, Pa. (about a 40-minute drive from Morgantown). The tournament runs Sept. 12-18; SGA tickets are available for Sept. 15-18.

A $10 ticket package includes a reserved seat on the 17 th hole, a T-shirt with a WVU -84 Lumber logo and access to performances by Lynard Skynard or Leanne Womack, among other amenities.

Free transportation will be provided to and from Nemacolin Woodlands. Details will be posted on the MIX (Mountaineer Information Xpress).

Vijay Singh, last years winner, along with Chris DiMarco, John Daly and Phil Mickelson are among the players scheduled to appear, she added.

The ticket offer is available exclusively to WVU students, faculty, staff and alumni. All proceeds go toward SGA s Student Memorial Scholarship and other charitable organizations.

Weve been collecting money for five years,said Beth Belch, member of the student Board of Governors.We have $10,000 in the memorial fund, and wed like to keep it going.

The Student Memorial Scholarship, awarded to student leaders on campus, is handed out during the spring semester.
