When alumni and friends of West Virginia University make their way to the WVU Alumni Associations pre-football game hospitality tents this fall, they will notice a few changes.
Last year, the Alumni Association hosted more than 3,000 alumni and friends at our pre-game hospitality tents, said Steve Douglas, president and chief executive officer, WVU Alumni Association. In order to better serve our guests, we have developed a unique tailgating event that we believe will provide all of our alumni and friends with an even more enjoyable tailgating experience.
The Alumni Association and Texas Roadhousehave developed atailgate-in-a-boxfor guests at this years tailgate events. The tailgate-in-a-box, served by Texas Roadhouse, will include a barbecued chicken breast sandwich, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, soda and a famous West Virginia traditiona pepperoni roll. As always, alumni and friends will have a variety of beverages to choose from to quench their thirst.
The pre-game hospitality tent, located in Tent City in the Blue Lot at the north end of the stadium, will be offered to members of the Alumni Association at a discounted price$10 per game ($60 for season tickets) for advanced tickets. Non-members may also purchase advanced tickets for $15 per game ($90 for season passes). Alumni and friends are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets at least one week in advance in order to ensure ticket availability.
The Alumni Association will welcome a limited number of walk-in guests on game day at a cost of $20 (members and non-members). Due to the high volume of past participants, alumni and friends are encouraged to purchase tent passes in advance.
The Alumni Association represents the Universitys largest constituency, and we are committed to providing our alumni with unique services,Douglas added. The pre-game hospitality event is just another example of our efforts to keep graduates connected. We welcome all alumni to become members of the Alumni Association, as well as those who are not graduates, but share our loyalty to the Gold and Blue.
