* WHAT * : National EPSCoR Conference Hosted by National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) with WVU National Research Center for Coal and Energy (NRCCE)

EPSCoR, the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research, is a federal research program to promote science and technology (S&T) through partnerships among universities, industry, government agencies, and federal research and development agencies in selected states. EPSCoR’s goal is to promote statesS&T resources as a foundation for economic growth. West Virginia is one of the original EPSCoR states.

This years conference will place special emphasis on the search for clean, affordable and secure energy resources for the nation.

About Llewellyn King:

Born and educated in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), Mr. King began his career as a journalist at age 16. He was a correspondent in Africa for Time magazine and other international outlets before moving to London in the late 1950s. While there he wrote for a number of Fleet Street newspapers, the BBC , and the Independent Television Network. He moved to the U.S. in 1963, and has worked for The New York Herald Tribune, The Baltimore News American, The Washington Daily News, and The Washington Post. In 1973, King started the Weekly Energy Report, which became The Energy Daily. King Publishing Group and King Communications Group newsletters also include: Defense Today, Space&Missile Defense Report, and White House Weekly. In recent years, Kings newsletters have won top awards from the National Press Club and the Newsletter Publishers Association.
