A free training session for the management of watersheds will be offered next month by the National Environmental Services Center at West Virginia University.

The session will be July 7-8 at the Westvaco Training Center near Morgantown. Registration is requested by June 30 by calling Rosemary Milburn toll-free at 1-800-624-8301, ext. 5515.

Watershedsare those regions of land with groundwater that eventually drains into a specific body of water, like a river, lake or the ocean. Watershed advocacy groups, community leaders and developers are encouraged to attend the session.

The session will discuss the effects of fecal coliform pollution on stream water quality and how effective management of onsite wastewater systems can protect watersheds and the public health.

Participants will also tour six onsite demonstration projects.
