West Virginia Universitys Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity will ring the bell of the Armored Cruiser USS West Virginia Friday (April 1) in remembrance of a WVU student who died from injuries sustained in a car accident over spring break (March 12-20).

Brian Yerkes, 20, a sophomore business major, suffered severe head injuries during the accident near his home in South Riding, Va. He died March 24.

Fridays bell-ringing ceremony begins at 11:50 a.m. outside Oglebay Hall. Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend the service.
