West Virginia University musicians will present”Live at the Falbo,”a vocal jazz and small ensembles concert on Sunday, April 3, at 3:15 p.m. in the Creative Arts Center’s Antoinette Falbo Theatre.
The concert will feature four WVU jazz groups, including the piano trio”Footprints,”performing music by Wayne Shorter;”The World Village,”performing”Les Amants”by Enrico Pieranunzi and”Kind of Arabic”by WVU student Cher Siang Tay; Jazz Ensemble I: Art of the Big Band, performing music by Bob Mintzer; and”Twelve Steps,”performing”Our Love is Here to Stay.”
“Footprints”features Jerome Kirkland, piano, Adam Osmianski, drums, and Brad Owens, bass. Members of”The World Village”include David Lawson, clarinet, Kat Clift, oboe, Matthew Schmuck, bass, Jeremy Jarvis, percussion, and Zachary Stringer, guitar. Jazz Ensemble I includes: Chris Sklar, Nathan Underwood, Chris Moore, Josh DeGeorge and Phil Cypher, saxophones; Ben Fodor, Court Manley, Chris Younglood and Danny Hoover, trombones; Homer Humble, Brian Tuczynski, Laura Nagle and Johnny Leonard, trumpets; Adam Osmianski and Jason Birch, drums; Leon Boykins, bass; Tim Kearney, guitar; and Jerome Kirkland, piano.”Twelve Steps”features Jason Birch, drums; Leon Boykins, bass; Tim Kearney, guitar; and Tim Hill, saxophone.
