Job seekers can get a foot in the door with companies eager to hire at the 2005 Spring Employment Expo from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the West Virginia University Coliseum.
The job fair, which brings about 80 employers together under one roof, is an efficient way to look for jobs, said Bob Kent, director of WVU s Career Services Center. Participants can interview with dozens of recruiters in one day, as well as explore different career paths.
The job market has turned on a dime, and the economy is in an upswing,Kent said.This is the largest expo weve had in a few years. Employers who havent been here in a decade are coming back to look for qualified individuals, and we still have employers signing up.
The expo, sponsored by WVU and the West Virginia Radio Corp., is free and open to the public. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Coliseum Blue Gate.
WVU students are strongly encouraged to attend, Kent said. They are advised to bring plenty of resumes and wear business attire.
I look forward to a large turnout from the community,he said.With this event, that makes more than 500 employers students have had available to them through a variety of job fairs and online recruitment.
