The West Virginia University Alumni Association has announced that its travel package to the NCAA Tournament in Albuquerque is a sellout. The trip, offered through National Travel, will leave Thursday, March 24, and return after the final games are played on Saturday, March 26.

We are glad that so many loyal alumni will be joining us to watch the Mountaineers take on Texas Tech in the Sweet Sixteen,said Steve Douglas, president and chief executive officer of the WVU Alumni Association.Alumni and friends are excited about this trip and extremely proud of this team. We are looking forward to cheering them on to victory in Albuquerque.

The WVU Alumni Association, Mountaineer Athletic Club and University Fund of the WVU Foundation will host a pep rally for alumni and friends from 5 to 5:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Old Town Hotel. The Mountaineer mascot, cheerleaders and pep band will be on hand to greet fans.

In addition to the contingency of alumni and friends traveling to New Mexico, alumni chapters throughout the country, including West Virginia, New York, Tampa, San Diego and Texas, will be hosting game watching events in support of the Mountaineers.

The WVU Alumni Association, chartered in 1873, represents more than 160,000 University graduates residing in every county in West Virginia, every state in the union and approximately 60 foreign nations. With nearly 100 registered chapters and constituent groups, the Associations 26,000 dues-paying members support Homecoming Weekend, the WVU Academy of Distinguished Alumni and dozens of other social and philanthropic programs.
