Author Derrick Jensen, whose books on nature and the social sciences have garnered a global audience, is speaking at West Virginia University on Wednesday, March 23, as part of the University’s observances of national Social Work Month.
Jensen will speak at 7 p.m. in the Erickson Alumni Center , on the Evansdale campus.
His book,”A Language Other than Words,”is a perennial bestseller on college campuses across the country, while another book,”The Culture of Make Believe,”was one of two finalists for the prestigious J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize in 2003.
He’s also the author of”Walking on Water: Reading , Writing and Revolution;”and co-wrote”Strangely Like War: The Global Assault on Forests.”
A book-signing and reception will follow Jensen’s talk, which is sponsored by the Graduate Social Work Organization, a group housed in WVU ’s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences.
