As May 15 Commencement approaches, West Virginia University is assisting graduating seniors plan for their big day with a spring One-Stop Shop.
Students have two locations to choose from:
- Mineral Resources Building atriumMonday, Feb. 28, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Mountainlair commons areaTuesday and Wednesday, March 1-2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
One-Stop Shop brings together all the vendors and services seniors need to take care of their graduation needs, said Amanda Tranquillo, future services specialist for Student Affairs.
Students may purchase caps and gowns from the WVU Bookstore, order graduation announcements and class rings, pick up graduation application information for their individual school or college, and enter their names in a drawing to win a diploma frame.
Additionally, WVU s Career Services Center will have tips on resumes and job hunting, and students can sign up with the Alumni Association and Athletic Department to stay connected with the University after graduation.
New this year: Financial Aid will conduct loan repayment sessions in the Mountainlair Shenandoah Room and Room 107 of the Mineral Resources Building, and students will be able to pay their $30 graduation fee by check or credit card, noted Sheila Powell, special assistant to the vice president for Student Affairs.
One-Stop Shop is sponsored by Student Affairs and is part of the Senior Year Experience.
