A visiting scholar will talk on American diplomacy in West Africa at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, in Room 458 of the Business and Economics Building on West Virginia Universitys downtown campus.
Kwame A. Boateng, a professor of political science and international relations at West Virginia Wesleyan College, will lecture onU.S. Diplomacy and West Africa: The Economic Community of West African States and the Liberian and Sierra Leonian Crises.
The lecturewhich is free and open to the publicis sponsored by WVU s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, Africana Studies Program and Department of History.
Dr. Boateng has bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Tennessee and a university teachers diploma from the University College of Education in Winneba, Ghana.
He also studied at the University of Oslo in Norway and Bagabaga Teachers College in Tamale, Ghana, and participated in Fulbright study programs in Brazil and South Korea.
