Love is in the \'Lair at WVU

West Virginia University is making Valentines Day sweeter for students, faculty and staff.

There are several activities planned for next week and Valentines Day to get everyone in the spirit of the holiday and help hopeless romantics with last-minute ideas:

  • The Daily Athenaeum, the student newspaper, will be selling Valentine Lovelines from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, and from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in the commons area. Entries will be published on Monday, Feb. 14.
  • From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, and Monday, Feb. 14, Rich Farms will have an assortment of roses to choose from in front of JACS .
  • For those with a sweet tooth, Javas&Cream will be taking orders for heart-shaped boxed candy, personalized cakes and cookies. Stuffed animals and helium balloons will also be sold. Order forms are available at Javas&Cream. The deadline for personalized items is Tuesday, Feb. 8. Orders may be e-mailed to lucille.cassino@mail.wvu.edu . Purchases can be picked up from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, and Monday, Feb. 14.
  • U92 , WVUs campus radio station, will have music to your Valentines ears during a special broadcast from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, in the commons area. U92 will have free giveaways, including massages to pamper your sweetheart and restaurant gift certificates for romantic dinners.
  • Students can find out how toKeep It Safe for Their Sweetheartwith the help of WVU Student Health Service. An information table will be set up from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10; Friday, Feb. 11; and Monday, Feb. 14.
  • Mountaineer Card Services is dedicating Feb. 14-18 asBe a Sweetheart Week.The idea is for students and employees to be sweethearts and remember to get their new photos taken for the changeover of the WVUID . Expanded hours are 8:15 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at the Mountaineer Card Services office in theLair.

I think its great how weve all pulled together in the Mountainlair to plan things to do on Valentines Day for the students,she said.Students can get everything they need for their sweetheart without leaving campus. Actually, they wont even have to leave theLair.
