West Virginia University student organizations are pairing good food with a good cause.

Profits from a buffet Sunday, Feb. 6, at Kassar Foods in Chelsea Square will go toward WVU sDollars for Disasterfund-raiser for Asian tsunami victims.

The lunch will be held from noon-3 p.m. and feature chicken and rice, gyro meat, baklava and other traditional Middle Eastern cuisine as well as a spicy Indian dish. The cost is $15 per person.

Kassar Foods specializes in Asian and Middle Eastern fare. Owner Abdullah Kassar said he wanted to do his part to raise money and awareness.

Most of my customers are from over there, and weve heard some of the storiesthe problems theyve hadand we want to help in any way we can,he said.

One of Kassars friends, Isna Keumala, is from Indonesia, where the National Disaster and Relief Agency puts the death toll at more than 97,000. During Fridays (Jan. 21) tsunami community forum at WVU , Keumala told an audience 10 of her relatives had either died or were still missing.

Dollars for Disasteris a WVU student-organized project that has raised more than $8,000 for the American Red Cross International Response Fund.
