The WVU Alumni Association will once again host activities in Charleston surrounding the 2005 Toyota Capital Classic WVU vs. Marshall basketball gamesTuesday, Jan. 11.
The 9 th annual WVU and Regional Campuses Alumni and Friends Luncheon, expected to draw some 600 guests, is set for 11:45 a.m. at Charleston Embassy Suites. WVU President David C. Hardesty Jr. will serve as the featured speaker, and brief visits are expected by the mens and womens basketball coaches and players. Gov. Bob Wise is expected to attend and offer brief remarks. Other government officials and legislative leaders are also expected to be there.
The WVU -MU womens game tips off Tuesday evening at the Charleston Civic Center at 5:30 p.m.; the mens game at 8 p.m. Tickets for the double-header are priced at $25 for the lower level and $20 for the upper level. Call 1-800-WVU-GAME to purchase tickets, or visit the Civic Center box office.
WVU Fanfare, a reception for alumni and friends, is scheduled in the Civic Center North Hall from 68 p.m. Fanfare, which annually attracts thousands, is free and open to all WVU fans. It is being sponsored by the WVU Alumni Association, Mountaineer Athletic Club, WVU Foundation Annual Fund, WVU College of Creative Arts and the WVU Office of Institutional Advancement.
The event features unique giveaways, a performance by the world-famous WVU Steel Drum Band, the popular MountaineerSpin Game,game highlights, complimentary snacks and a Mountaineer Market for purchasing your favorite WVU merchandise.
