West Virginia University Institute of Technology will offer its Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) on Marshall University’s campus beginning in fall 2005, under a recent agreement by the two schools and WVU .
The arrangement provides direct access to the BSCE program through facilities in Montgomery , South Charleston and Huntington .
The agreement was signed last month by WVU Tech President GalanLannyJaneksela, Marshall Provost Sarah Denman and WVU Provost Gerald Lang. It represents the first of what is hoped to be several collaborations that provide greater access to respective institutions’niche programs through delivery on the partnering institutions’campuses, officials say.
Upon successful completion of the required curriculum, Marshall students will be awarded the BSCE from WVU Tech.
More details about the program will be released in mid-January.
According to U.S. News and World Reports 2004 Americas Best Colleges edition, Tech is ranked fourth among public comprehensive colleges in the South. Tech’s outstanding engineering programs also received high honors as 49th in the nation for best undergraduate program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology among schools whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s .
