Mountaineer Head Coach Rich Rodriguez will hand off a football to members of West Virginia Universitys Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity at noon Friday, Nov. 19, at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The ceremonial handoff comes one day before the kickoff of the student groups 35 th annual Run to Pitt.

The run gets under way at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital side of the stadium.

The event was previously scheduled to begin Friday at the Sheetz gas station at the Star City Interstate 79 exit.

The Run to Pitt benefits the Autism Society of Pittsburgh. Autism is a neurological disorder that affects 1.5 million Americans.

WVU students will run a 73-mile relay from Milan Puskar Stadium to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

Along the way, APO members will carry the football that will be given to Pittsburgh football coach Walt Harris and used in the Backyard Brawl at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, at Heinz Field.

Last years Run from Pitt raised $1,600 for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh.
