While there will be plenty of arts and crafts at the Mountaineer Week craft fair this weekend at West Virginia University, there will also be many literary and educational activities for adults and children.

The West Virginia University Press will be at the craft festival Friday, Nov. 19, through Sunday, Nov. 21, in the Mountainlair to display a wide variety of books that have been published recently on West Virginia and Appalachia.

For example, a brand new edition ofHollows, Peepers, and Highlanderswas released during the summer. Author and West Virginia ecologist and naturalist George Constantz will be on hand at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Vandalia Room to give a presentation on the geology, flora and fauna of West Virginia.

Meanwhile, WVU graduate and author Valerie Nieman will read from her latest book at 3 p.m. Saturday on the first floor of the Mountainlair.Fidelities,published by WVU Press last month, is a collection of short stories set in and around West Virginia.

These books and more will be available at the craft fair.
