Strike up the band! West Virginia University’s 2004 Homecoming Parade is coming to a street near you.

The forecast is calling for blue and goldreignas hundreds of WVU alumni and spectators descend on Morgantown for the festivities, which begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, on High Street.

The parade is a time-honored tradition that brings the Morgantown community and WVU campus together, said Ron Justice, assistant dean of students. Students, alumni and area residents line the street to cheer on thePride of West VirginiaMountaineer Marching Band, the WVU Alumni Band, area high school and junior high bands, floats and the parade marshal, who presides over the event.

Applications and rules are available in the Student Organization Services office in the Mountainlair. Completed forms, along with the $50 entry fee, are due Friday, Oct. 15. A $10 late fee will be assessed.

Checks should be made out to West Virginia University and indicate Homecoming Parade on the memo line of the check. No cash or ATM cards will be accepted. Nonprofit and student organizations are free.
