In response to concerns from students and parents regarding online ticketing, West Virginia University Student Affairs and Student Government officials have cooperatively agreed to several changes in the ticketing and scheduling process.

Effective next season, WVU will schedule Fall Family Weekend with a game that can adequately accommodate the increased number of parents and students wishing to attend the game together. Also, parents will be seated in a separate section in order not to displace students.

As early as next week, Student Affairs and Student Government will also post an online survey on MIX Mountaineer Information Expressfor additional student feedback on the online ticketing system. The poll will allow students to weigh in on a number of issues including whether tickets are distributed on a seniority, loyalty, or first-come first served basis. However, the Sept. 25 WVU -James Madison game will be ticketed as usual.

Finally, with the inclement weather forecast for the weekend and an increasing number of no-shows expected, the number of student tickets being released on line will be increased. Students who choose not to attend the game because of the expected weather conditions are asked to cancel their tickets online as soon as possible to allow other students to claim them.

Im pleased with these latest developments that stem from cooperation between athletics, student affairs and student government, and wish to extend my thanks to the student body for their input and feedback, said Student Government Association President Jordan Workman.Together, we can make positive changes to this new system.

Workman also urges students whove claimed tickets but decided not to attend Saturdays game to protect their loyalty points by indicating that option online by noon Friday.
