The West Virginia University Alumni Association has named Ellen Goodwin Executive Director for Development for the organization.
We are extremely pleased to welcome Ellen to the WVU Alumni Association,said Stephen Douglas, CEO and President of the WVU Alumni Association.Her extensive experience in fund raising and development will be an asset to our organization going forward. Her broad knowledge and skills in these areas will help us to enhance the services and programs for alumni and friends.
Goodwin, a graduate of WVU , will oversee all aspects of development for the Alumni Association, including capital campaigns, the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development program for the organization and other fund-raising activities.
Before joining the Alumni Association, Goodwin served as assistant dean for development and alumni relations for the WVU College of Law where she was responsible for managing alumni relations, major gifts and other activities for the school.
In 2001, Goodwin attended the Oxford Roundtable for chief financial and development officers at Oxford University in Oxford, England.
She also received two Crystal Awards from the West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for her work onThe West Virginia Story,a publication and video about the technology implementation in K-12 public schools and its effect on education reform in the state.
