Gov. Bob Wise on Friday (July 23) reappointed CurtisHankBarnette of Bethlehem, Pa., to another four-year term on the West Virginia University Board of Governors.

Barnette, who just completed a two-year term as BOG chairman, will serve through June 30, 2008.

Barnette is counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher&Flom, focusing on corporate law, corporate governance, international trade and public policy. He is chairman emeritus of Bethlehem Steel Corp.

Other recent appointments to WVU s 17-member governing board: Charleston attorney Steven B. Farmer and Robert Wells of Crofton, Md., director of legal affairs for a physician network.

The WVU Board of Governors has general supervision and control over the academic and business affairs of the University, including West Virginia Institute of Technology, West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

The boards next meeting is set for Sept. 10 in Morgantown.
