Gov. Bob Wise on Monday (July 12) appointed two new members to West Virginia Universitys 15-member Board of Governors.

Joining the board through June 2008 is Charleston attorney Steven B. Farmer, replacing Terry Jones, whose term expired, and Robert Wells of Crofton, Md, replacing Paul Gates, whose term also expired. Farmer has practiced law in Charleston since 1984. He is the founding member of the Farmer, Cline&Arnold law firm. Wells serves as director of legal affairs for the International Physician Networks. He has held several positions in West Virginia municipal and state governments, and is a member of the WVU Political Science Advisory Board.

The University extends a sincere thank you to Terry and Paul for their years of service to the board,said WVU President David C. Hardesty Jr.Both have provided exceptional leadership.

The WVU Board of Governors has general supervision and control over the academic and business affairs of the University, including West Virginia Institute of Technology, West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Potomac State College of West Virginia University.

The panels next meeting is set for Sept. 9-10 in Morgantown.
