Limited spaces remain for the 2004 West Virginia WritersWorkshop July 22-25 at West Virginia University.

Since 1997, the workshop has offered both established and aspiring writers an opportunity to work intensively with nationally renowned authors of poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction.

The 2004 workshop faculty include:

  • Fiction writer Peter Cameron, author ofThe City of Your Final Destination
  • Fiction writer and poet Gary Fincke, author of 13 books, most recentlySorry I Worried You
  • Poet and WVU English professor James Harms, author of four books of poetry , includingFreeways and Aqueducts
  • Nonfiction writer Rebecca McClanahan,The Riddle Song and Other RememberingsPoet Jane Mead,House of Poured-Out Waters

Workshops are limited to 12 participants. Other activities include afternoon and evening readings, craft classes, open mic readings and one-on-one tutorials. There is also an extensive library of literary journals available to conference participants.

The cost for the four-day workshop is $280. Day participation, which includes all events except the workshops, is also available at $40 a day or $110 for the four days.
