With finals winding down, thousands of students will be packing up and heading home this week at West Virginia University.

WVU residence halls officially close at 5 p.m. Saturday (May 8). Between now and then,

heavy traffic is expected around campus and in the Morgantown area.

The Department of Public Safety advises motorists to anticipate delays on most roads leading to the downtown campus.

We’re asking everyone to be patient,said Corey Farris, assistant dean of students for residential education.Allow extra travel time and plan alternate routes, if possible.

Starting today (May 5), DPS officers will be directing traffic around Towers and Dadisman Hall. Additional police will be on duty from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at other residence halls.
