West Virginia University freshman Kaylee Wilson will trade in her casual college attire for an elegant gown and ballet slippers this weekend as she transforms into a princess for the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Va.

Wilson, nominated by Student Organization Services to represent WVU at the event, will join Queen Shenandoah Cydney Chase, the daughter of actor/comedian Chevy Chase, and other festival royalty for a coronation, queen’s ball and parade.

It’s a horrible time for me because it’s the weekend before finals and I know it’s going to be busy, but I’m excited to meet (Pittsburgh Steeler) Jerome Bettis, she said.

A general studies major at WVU , Wilson served on the Homecoming committee this past year and is involved in community service projects, such as SHOP (Students Helping Other People) and Toy Mountain. She is also active in the Mountaineer Maniacs and the American Society of Interior Designers.
