Hundreds of youngsters from area elementary schools, Head Start programs and child care centers will get a closer look at a working farm during Kiddie Days at the West Virginia University Animal Sciences Farm Tuesday, April 27, through Friday, April 30.

Hosted by WVU ’s Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences, Kiddie Days gives children in the region access to the farm, located on Stewartstown Road. Davis College faculty, staff and students lead the tours.

A $2 admission charge has been instituted to offset costs of the event. For additional information on the tours, please contact the Davis College’s Division of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at 304-293-2231.

The college has been hosting these tours for some 25 years to give area youth a sense of where food comes from. For many children, Kiddie Days provides their first visit to a working farm where guides explain the science and skills required in agricultural production.
