Tickets are on sale now for aSousastyle concert presented by the West Virginia University Wind Symphony at the Metropolitan Theater in downtown Morgantown on Monday and Tuesday, April 19 and 20.
The April 20 concert will be the annual scholarship fundraiser for the WVU Division of Music. The Division has held a scholarship fundraiser for the past 39 years. In addition, the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Metropolitan Theater renovation and the WVU Bands.
Featured soloists for the 7:30 p.m. Sousa Concert, titledA Sousa Spectacular!include Catharine Thieme, vocal soloist and song leader; Dereck Scott, trumpet; Stephen A. Saunders, trombone; and Pat Clark, euphonium.
The WVU Wind Symphony will be conducted by Don Wilcox and associate conductor John Hendricks, III . WVU Theatre Professor Emeritus, Dr. Charles Neel, will be master of ceremonies.
