West Virginia Insurance Commissioner Jane L. Cline will discuss effects of the recent legislative session on the state’s insurance industry at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, in the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics’Mylan Professional Education Center.

Sponsored by the Fred Wright Center for Insurance and Financial Services, Cline’s talk will explore the important decisions lawmakers made during their 60-day session, which ended in March.

Cline, a native of Preston County, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from WVU and a master’s degree in business administration from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies.

Gov. Bob Wise named Cline the state’s insurance commissioner on Jan. 15, 2001. She is a member of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and serves on several committees. From 1989-97, Cline served as commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles.
