If you are looking for a job, West Virginia University’s employment expo is the place to be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 2.
The expo, sponsored by WVU ’s Career Services Center and the West Virginia Radio Corp., is open to anyone, but it is particularly valuable for students, said Bob Kent, CSC director.
The job market has improved considerably, but remains very competitive. This may be the last time, collectively, WVU students see this many companies gathered at one place to see them free ,he said.
More than 50 employers, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and military, will be available to talk with students about career opportunities. Kent noted, business, engineering, allied health care, consumer products and government are all showing upturns in recruiting at this year’s employment expo.
Students interested in attending should plan to arrive early,dress for successand bring plenty of copies of their resumes. This is ameet and greettype of fair, so they may only get a maximum of 15 minutes to make a lasting impression.
