The Building Greatness Campaign and the West Virginia University Foundation will host a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the Waterfront as aThank Youto the WVU faculty, staff, students and greater Morgantown community for their support during the recent campaign.

Building Greatness was a five and half year, $250 million effort that concluded Dec. 31, 2003, and raised more than $300 million. The final total will be announced Saturday to donors during a campaign celebration being hosted by the WVU Foundation. The campaign was conducted by the WVU Foundation on behalf of the University.

The fireworks from Zambelli Fireworks Internationale are being underwritten by Centra Bank. They will be set off on River Road just south of the Westover Bridge across the Monongahela River from Hazel Ruby McQuain Park. WCLG , 1300 on the AM dial, will simulcast music for the event.

River Road between the Westover Bridge and the Mon County Dog Pound will be closed from 7 to 10:15 p.m. that evening. Local traffic can access River Road from DuPont Road.

The WVU Foundation is a private non-profit corporation that generates and provides private support for West Virginia University.
