Beginning this summer, West Virginia University’s Office of Admissions and Records will be permanently replacing paper grade mailers, or grade reports, with online access to grades.
With almost all students using the Internet, it’s reduced the need for paper copies, said Cheng Khoo, director of Admissions and Records.
We now have the electronic means of providing grades on the Internet, and most students are using their Mountaineer Information Express (MIX) account to access information,he added. Online grades will be available within a week after final exams.
But, if students still want to receive a paper copy of their grades for each term, they may still do so by logging on tohttp://www.mix.wvu.edu/, clicking on the STAR tab and following the WVU STAR Information System link to the Student&Financial Aid section where they may selectRequest Grade Mailer.
Paper requests can be made through finals week, and grades will be processed approximately one week after the last day of final exams.
Students may request one copy of their grade mailer per semester free of charge. Official transcripts cost $6 and may be ordered at Records Services in the Office of Admissions and Records.
Transcript requests may also be faxed to 304-293-8991 or mailed to: Transcript Unit, Admissions and Records, West Virginia University, P.O. Box 6009, Morgantown, WV 26506 -6009.
There will be some cost savings to this plan, but more importantly, it will be a convenience for students, Khoo noted.
