Explore the many flavors of the world when West Virginia University hosts its annual International Dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 7, in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Hosted by WVU s International Student Organization and Women Across Cultures, this years event celebrates the travels of Marco Polothe most famous Westerner to travel on the Silk Road.

The menu will feature dishes from countries that Polo, originally from Venice, visitedArmenia, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tibet and Mongolia.

Its a wonderful opportunity to sample foods from many different countries, most of which well never have the opportunity to visit,said Liz Finklea, adviser for Women Across Cultures.This years theme, �€~The Silk Road,illustrates the influence that trade has had over the food choices of the different populations along Marco Polos route. There will be a variety of main dishes including several different vegetarian selections. We have something for everyone.

This is a spring fundraiser for the ISO and WAC . Tickets are $13 for non-students, $8 for students (children 9 and under are free). They may be purchased from members of these student organizations or at the Office of International Students&Scholars.
