The West Virginia University School of Physical Education is offering a seminar on fluid yogalates, aquatic exercises combining yoga and Pilates, from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Elizabeth Moore Hall pool.

The seminar will include classroom and pool activity, so participants will need to bring a swimsuit and towel. Paper and pencil will be provided. Cost is $50.

Mary Wykle, a WVU alumna with extensive background in all areas of aquatics, will be the instructor. Wykle, who holds several certifications and credentials, has been a teacher and trainer for many years. She was recently selected as one of the top 100 aquatic leaders in the United States and received the Dolphin Award for Aquatic Therapy and Rehab in 2001.

Fluid yogalates intertwines the poses of yoga and exercises of Pilates. Each movement flows together with assistance from selected ai chi moves. The exercises are both intensive and relaxing, strengthening the muscles and relieving stress.
