The West Virginia University Division of Art and its faculty will participate in Art Tour’03 Friday, Nov. 7, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Faculty members Robert Bridges, Paul Krainak, Sergio Soave and Naijun Zhang will host exhibitions of their recent work in their studios located at 300 Court Street, off of Spruce Street, in downtown Morgantown. The artists create paintings, drawings, prints and digital works. They invite the public to see their new works and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for their creative research.

Professors Robert Anderson, Cliff Harvey and Bill Thomas will have their work, as well as that of their students, on display at Zenclay, located at 2862 University Ave. This exhibition celebrates more than 30 years of teaching by each of these artists.

Victoria Fergus will display examples of her fiber art at The Gallery in the Seneca Center. Fergus, an associate professor in art education, has had her work featured in many exhibitions and regional art fairs.

The Mesaros Galleries also will be open, featuring its current exhibitions:”Shifting Meanings: The Layered Images of Hammond, Fitzpatrick and Mull”and”Dog Head Stew.”

Students and alumni of the WVU program will exhibit their work at the Mountainlair, at 123 Pleasant Street and at numerous other venues throughout the tour.

Art Tour’03 is organized by Arts Monongahela as a community arts event. A printed a map with all of the art venues will be available at all participating sites. Shuttle bus transportation between the sites will also be available.
