Concert and recording artist Victor Rosenbaum, a faculty member at both the New England Conservatory and the Longy School of Music, will present a piano concert at the WVU Creative Arts Center, Friday, Oct. 31.

The program begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (Room 200A) and is free and open to the public. The all-Beethoven program will feature Piano Sonatas, Opp. 109, 110 and 111.

In addition, Rosenbaum will present a Piano Master Class Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, also at Bloch Hall. The master class is also open to the public.

Rosenbaum has taught at Bostons New England Conservatory since 1967 and was chair of the Piano Department for more than ten years. At Longhy School of Music he was director and president from 1985 to 2001. He has performed widely as a soloist and chamber music performer in the United States, Europe, Asia, Israel, and Russia in such prestigious halls as Tully Hall in New York and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

He also teaches at the summer International Keyboard Institute at the Mannes College of Music in New York, was a visiting professor at the Eastman School of Music, and was recently a guest lecturer at Juilliard.

Rosenbaum gives master classes worldwide and lectures on pedagogy issues and interpretative analysis. His highly praised recording of Schubert is on Bridge Records.
