This year’s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences annual homecoming program Saturday, Nov. 1, at West Virginia University will feature lectures by retired Eberly College professors. Topics will include the areas of the humanities, political science, physics, literature and chemistry.

A Mountaineer Brunch will follow the lectures in Woodburn Hall. The event begins at 8:45 a.m. and precedes this year’s Homecoming football game against Central Florida at 1 p.m.

On the topic of humanities, Janet K. Kemp, Senior Lecturer Emerita, will discuss”What is a Classic: Reflections on Humanities.”Sophia Peterson, Professor Emerita, will focus on political science with her lecture on”World Affairs: Media Coverage and Public Knowledge.”

In the area of physics, Carl A. Rotter, Eberly Family Professor Emeritus, will speak on”The Missing Century in Physics Education: 1900-2000.”Armand E. Singer, Professor Emeritus of Foreign Languages, will present”The Legend of Don Juan in Literature.”Professor Emeritus Anthony Winston’s lecture on”19th Century Photographywill have a chemistry basis.
