Former West Virginia University President Neil S. Bucklew will presentThe Value of a Socially Just Societyat 10 a.m. Friday (Oct. 31) in the WVU Gluck Theatre.
Bucklew was president of WVU for nearly a decade. During his tenure, he established WVU s Office for Social Justice. In recognition of his commitment to social justice, the Neil S. Bucklew Award was created in his honor.
Today Bucklew serves as a professor in the College of Business and Economics. His teaching and research focus on conflict management and alternate dispute resolution, and he is the founding director of the WVU Faculty Mediation Program. Bucklew also serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
A native of Morgantown, he began his college career at WVU . He holds degrees from the University of Missouri, the University of North Carolina and the University of Wisconsin.
