The West Virginia University Institute of Technology will host a training workshop Nov. 12-13 on the Stamp microcontroller and Boe-Bat robotics. The event will be held in Techs Multimedia Classroom.

Stamp is one of the most popular microcontrollers designed and manufactured by Parallax Inc. of California, said workshop organizer Wei Cao. It has been used for the Mars project by NASA , and has been adopted by many universities and colleges, including WVU and WVU Tech as part of their microprocessor courses, he added.

The workshop will include a Parallax-conducted demonstration which will include the Stamp Microcontroller-based Boe-Bat Robots, SumoBat Robots, Giant Toddler Robots, Blue Chip set and Ultrasonic controller set.

The registration fee is $130 which includes the Boe-Bat Robot full kit, two days of hands-on training and lunch. Seats have been reserved for faculty, staff and students from WVU and its regional campuses. To make a reservation, contact Dr. Cao at 304-442-3349 or wei.cao@mail.wvu.edu by Oct. 25.
