Do you sometimes strike out in your interviews? Representatives from Microsoft and Ernst&Young will join Donald Asher, a nationally known speaker and author, to present a nationwide video conference,”How to Interview Like You Mean It.”
Students cansit inon the presentation from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the main auditorium at the Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University.
Sponsored by the WVU Career Services Center (CSC), the 60-minute program will cover common interview methods, making small talk, the importance of non-verbal behaviors, employer research tactics, how to ask effective questions and how to set yourself apart from the crowd.
Network online at WVU s first Virtual e-Fair
WVU students and employers can now register for the first West Virginia University Virtual e-Fair. The e-Fair, powered by MonsterTRAK, will run for three weeks, Oct. 27-Nov. 14.
The e-Fair offers students an additional resource for their job search needs by connecting them to a variety of employers. It is open to all WVU students and free to currently enrolled students. Alumni must register with the CSC . The e-Fair is accessible from any computer, lists jobs by industry or company name and allows students to submit a cover letter and resume. Students may submit previously uploaded resumes or create a new one online.
In addition to being a valuable tool for students, the e-Fair provides companies an important resource for their hiring needs. Benefits include unlimited job postings for one fee for the duration of the e-Fair; unique branding, including the ability to upload company logos; and access directly from their office.
Employer registration is available through Oct. 26. A $100 registration fee is cost-shared by WVU Career Services and MonsterTRAK. MonsterTRAK will invoice companies for the cost.
