Students: heres your shot at royalty. Student Organization Services is accepting applications for West Virginia Universitys Homecoming 2003 candidates.

A queen and king will be selected based on campus leadership and community involvement. An essay must also be completed as part of the application process. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, Sept. 30, prior to noon. No exceptions will be made.

Essays should be no more than two, type-written pages in response to this issue: There are divided opinions world-wide regarding thee political, economic and social situation in Iraq. If President Bush asked you to serve in a leadership role in Iraq, what are some of the strategies you would utilize to empower the Iraqi people?

Applicants must meet the following criteria: * Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all coursework

* Be enrolled as a full-time student at WVU , Morgantown campus * Must have completed 89 credit hours

* Write an essay as outlined above

There is also a $5 application fee, which must be paid with a check or money order made out to West Virginia University. The fee is due with the application.

A five-person panel will conduct interviews Oct. 6-7, in Hatfields B. Candidates are asked to sign up for an interview time slot when they turn in their applications.

Students will vote online using the eBallot voting system Oct. 28-29 with winners to be crowned at halftime of the WVU -Central Florida game Saturday, Nov. 1. Kick-off is 1 p.m.
