West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences and the West Virginia Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station are preparing for the Sixth Annual Graduate Student Paper/Poster Event Thursday, April 24, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Towers Blue and Gold rooms of the Evansdale Residential Complex. The event is free and open to the public

“The past six years of this event were a great success and we look forward to the sixth year of this important experience for our students and faculty,”said Ben Dawson-Andoh, an associate professor in the Davis College’s Division of Forestry and one of the event’s organizers.

“The Graduate Student Paper/Poster Event is an opportunity to bring recognition to the scholarly work of graduate students in agriculture, forestry and consumer sciences,”Dawson-Andoh said.”Further, this event allows for recognition and appreciation of the diversity across disciplines and students in the Davis College.”

Graduate students in the Davis College will have the opportunity to present research that they are conducting as part of theses, dissertations or research that represents their efforts on research projects conducted in conjunction with faculty members.

“This is an excellent opportunity to enhance the professional development of graduate students by exposing them to a conference-like setting,”Dawson-Andoh added.

Papers will be presented throughout the day with a break for lunch. Posters will be displayed throughout the day as well, and authors of posters will be asked to be present from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to answer questions from attendees.
