The Pittsburgh Pirates will have a booth set up in the Mountainlair Monday and Tuesday, April 7-8, to promote”College Night,”which will be held Friday, April 25, at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The Pirates will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers that evening at 7 p.m.

Michelle Mejia, a West Virginia University School of Journalism alumna and current Gold Club Coordinator for the Pirates, hopes to have many WVU students in attendance at this year’s”College Night.”

“I think this gives students a great chance to travel to Pittsburgh and do something different,”Mejia said.”West Virginia doesn’t have any major professional sports teams, so it is nice to know that the Pirates are only a short drive away.”

This game is not limited to WVU students, however. Tickets for the event, even though it is designated as”College Night,”are open to anyone interested in seeing the game. This is also a good opportunity for families to take advantage of the discounted ticket prices that are offered, Mejia added.

Tickets for the game are $10. For more information, stop by the Mountainlair April 7-8, or contact Thomas Lee, 304-284-9829, or Megan Wilson, 304-598-7146, about ticket purchasing. Lee and Wilson are both undergraduate journalism majors at WVU , and current Pittsburgh Pirate interns.
