West Virginia University will recognize nine students andone employee for outstanding safety efforts during the President’s Safety Reception at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Erickson Alumni Center.

This year’s individual awards will include two Good Samaritan awards and eight Safety Achievement awards of Excellence. Several building/unit safety committees will also be recognized.

WVU ’s Environmental Health&Safety is coordinating the program, which is open to the public.

Ronald Angus, manager of risk management services at McMaster University in Ontario, will be the keynote speaker.

The University established the safety reception program in 1991 to recognize groups and individuals for their commitment to safety and to honor those who perform actions beyond the call of duty.
