Hip-hop phenom 50 Cent will perform Tuesday, April 8, at the West Virginia University Coliseum. The show will feature special guest Clipse and is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.


Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Mountainlair Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets,www.ticketmaster.comand the Ticketmaster Phone Center. Ticket sales at the Mountainlair Box Office will be done byrandom number distribution (ticket lottery) beginning at 9 a.m. at the rear plaza entrance to the Mountainlair.


50 Cents single”In Da Club,”is No. 1 on Billboards Hot 100. He is the most-played rapper on the radio and in the clubs, and has the biggest buzz on the mixtape circuit. His”Get Rich or Die Tryin”album has sold 2.2 million copies since its release Feb. 6. 50 Cents hit,”Wanksta,”can also be heard on the”8 Mile”soundtrack.


Says USA Today,”This Eminem and Dr. Dre-backed rapper from Queens has made the jump from underground legend to mainstream superstar in no time flat.”


50 Cent will be joined by special guest Clipse. Brothers Gene”Malice”and Terrence”Pusha T”Thornton grew up near a naval base in Virginia Beach and will bring their diverse musical influences to the Coliseum stage. Their singles,”Grindin”and”When the Last Time,”have both spent time on Billboards Hot 100. They also recently shared the stage with Justin Timberlake on the MTV Music Awards.


Tickets for the April 8 show are $29, $27 and $23, depending on seat location. WVU students with valid identification receive a $3 discount on all price levels. This discount is only available at the Mountainlair Box Office.

Random number distribution procedure


Random Number Distribution will begin at 9 a.m. at the rear plaza entrance to the Mountainlair. There is no need to arrive prior to 9 a.m. Overnight camping will not be permitted.


The procedure is as follows:


  • Each ticket buyer will be issued a number

  • At approximately 9:45 a.m. a ticket buyer will be asked to draw a random number. Ticket buyers will be lined up accordingly. (EXAMPLE: If 0050 is the number drawn, then the ticket buyer holding that number will the first one in line, 0051 will be second, etc. The ticket buyer holding 0049 will be last.)

  • All customers arriving after the number has been drawn will not be issued a random number and will be directed to the back of the line.

  • A random number DOES NOT guarantee a ticket, only a place in line.

  • Any random number altered or tampered with will not be honored.

  • Only ONE random number per ticket buyer

  • Those without random numbers will be sold tickets, pending availability, after those with random numbers.
