“The safety and security of our entire student community, as well as our faculty and staff, is our primary concern during these uncertain times,”said WVU President David C. Hardesty Jr.”We especially want our international students and those studying abroad to feel safe.”

WVU has around 1,300 international students enrolled this semester from nearly 100 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and Kuwait. Similarly, the University has approximately 30 students studying abroad this spring and 20 study abroad tours planned for 2003. No students are currently in the Middle East and no trips are planned there.

WVU will post updated war-related information periodically to the WVU web site (http://www.wvu.edu)along with the employee Intranet (http://intranet.wvu.edu)and the student MIX .
