West VirginiaUniversity students with math, science and Spanish skills are being sought to tutor local high school students as part of the Universitys Upward Bound program �€a unique program designed to encourage and support first-generation college students.


“This a wonderful opportunity for WVU students to gain some valuable experience working as tutors, as well as a great way to earn some extra money,”said Rebecca Vincent, WVU Upward Bound program manager.


WVU students chosen for the positions earn $8 an hour; transportation to either PrestonCountyHigh School or Clay-Battelle is provided. Approximately nine hours of work per week is available.
